Next Steps to Save IMLS

Please take the next five high-impact next steps in the fight to Save the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

We can expand our reach and encourage even more Americans to take action to support Museums, Libraries, Arts, PBS, and Humanities with a small donation today. Every $10 we raise helps us reach another 1,000 people to ask them to take action today. Please take the next step and donate $10-25 today!

In a time where our country is facing the dangers of a crumbling infrastructure system the administration’s federal budget proposal makes inappropriate cuts to the information and education infrastructure that millions of Americans depend upon. That’s why we are working so hard to fight against budgets that cut funding for libraries and museums but we need your help! There's much more we can do together.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services enriches the country by providing opportunities for educational and technological advancement to all Americans. The Grants to States program allows local organizations to solve local problems. These funds have been used by Schools, Museums, and Libraries to help students compete in STEM fields, they have created literacy programs for children and adults, they have created job training programs to put our country back to work, and they have helped provide high-speed internet access to rural communities across the country. In fact, the programs and services that come from libraries return more $5 for every dollar spent on them.

For hundreds of year, libraries and museums have been celebrated across the country. The administration’s proposed budget would make advancements a thing of the past, leaving the vast majority of Americans behind.

We’re relying on you to take action and let Congress know that if their budget is expected to put “America First,” it must provide funding for the programs that do just that. It must protect the IMLS.
